Equity, Justice, and Belonging
We believe that excellence in education is inseparable from equity, justice, and belonging.
We are committed to creating a community where every student, staff member, and family feels recognised, valued, and empowered to contribute to the Greater Good.
This approach is grounded in Mulgrave’s Strategic Direction 2025+, in which Belonging is at the foundation of developing Learner Confidence with Purpose.

Equity, Justice, and Belonging (EJB) are built on the principles of diversity and inclusion, elements which are embedded within EJB as foundational commitments that centre belonging and shared accountability. We focus on:
- Equity First
- Removing systemic barriers and redistributing resources to ensure fairness and opportunity.
- Justice as Anchor
- Tackling root causes of inequity, embedding reconciliation, anti-racism, and systemic transformation.
- Belonging as Outcome
- Creating a culture where every learner, staff member, and family feels recognised, valued, and empowered.
How We Bring This To Life
We measure our success through three constituencies:
- Students – Developing confident learners, global citizens, and ethical leaders.
- Staff – Equipping teachers and employees to embed EJB in learning, leadership, and community.
- Society – Extending our impact through reconciliation, partnerships, and contribution to the Greater Good.
Our Ongoing Journey
Equity, justice, and belonging are not end goals but continuing commitments. Each year we reflect on our progress, publish updates, and invite our community into conversation and accountability.
