Mulgrave's view of digital tools, such as AI, is that they are an essential component of a stimulating, relevant academic environment that supports preparation for the future. Tools are utilised by students and teachers as a powerful resource for knowledge acquisition, meaning-making, and task optimisation.

We have a dedicated team of Learning & Technology specialists who support and guide both faculty and students in using technology in the classroom. Students are encouraged to use AI tools, such as interacting with AI chatbots, to augment their learning, mirroring appropriate professional use. Specialised Middle School electives, such as those within the LEAP programmes, offer immersive experiences in robotics, coding, and AI, which ensure students are creators, and not just consumers of technology. While we embrace technological innovation, Mulgrave prioritises the human qualities that digital tools cannot replicate. Creativity, empathy, and social interaction remain at the core of our programmes, ensuring that students engage with ideas and people in meaningful ways.

We are equally committed to protecting students’ cognitive focus and wellbeing. As part of this effort, we have a mobile-device-free campus to foster a healthy, focussed learning environment. In addition, our school-issued devices (iPads and MacBooks, depending on grade level) support teachers' on-screen oversight and mitigate algorithmic distractions by restricting non-educational websites (social media, gaming, etc.). This ensures student device use remains focussed on educational outcomes. By reducing unnecessary distractions and automating simple tasks, we free up students’ mental capacity for complex, human-centred challenges that build creativity and resilience.

Our commitment ensures that technology strengthens, rather than diminishes, students’ critical thinking, nurtures their ability to make better judgments around device usage, and protects the foundational skills essential for lifelong success. Ultimately, we empower students, to use innovation as a tool, not as a hindering factor, to become better professionals and engaged citizens.
