Embrace Your Personal Best
Mulgrave is a wonderful place for young people to learn and develop as individuals. Our Middle School appreciates and celebrates the complex physical, socio-emotional and academic development of our Grade 7-9 students. These years mark an important transition in a student’s life when self-expression and autonomy become priorities. The personalised support that we provide our students as they develop their voices is an essential part of our Middle School programme. By taking care of our students’ emotional well-being, we free them to focus on their growth as learners.
Highlights of the Middle School Programme:
We offer a vibrant model of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP), a rigorous and dynamic academic curriculum in which experiential learning is central. Within the framework of the IBMYP, we provide our students with an inspiring and supportive environment where courage, creativity and character are celebrated. Through our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programme, we support the broad use of technology to help students refine academic skills, augment the curriculum, motivate learning, and prepare students for future life experiences. As well, we encourage our students to take advantage of rich array of opportunities that encourage them to engage outside of the classroom. Our LEAP elective programme, after-school clubs and co-curricular activities cover everything from mountain biking to physics and develop leadership and creativity, among other skills. Our students’ experience during these pivotal years is guided by a skilled and dedicated faculty, underpinned by progressive programming that supports each student’s development so they acquire the confidence to meet the challenges that they will undoubtedly face.
We would love to introduce you to some of our Middle School students so that you can hear from them about how our personalised programme offers them a safe and dynamic place to learn and grow. Come visit us at one of our Open House events or schedule a tour. We look forward to being able to share the Mulgrave difference with you.
In our pursuit to ‘inspire excellence in education and life,’ we interpret ‘excellence’ as ‘personal best’. As educators, we believe success is achieved when our students: engage in our world with awareness and compassion; take risks, follow their passions and learn from their mistakes; are innovative and principled in their use of technology; balance work and play; and, ultimately, are proud of our school! - Martin Jones, MS Principal
