Babysitting Night - Friday, April 26th

Dear Junior School parents,

The Middle School Global Nomads LEAP is hosting a babysitting night on Friday, April 26th, 5:00-9:00pm.

Looking for some time off from the kids? Maybe even a Friday date night? The Middle school Global Nomads LEAP is hosting a babysitting night on Friday, April 26th, 5-9:00. This event will take place at the school for students in Grades 1-5, and the meet-up location and timeline will be released after we figure out the schedule and students attending. There will be games in the gym, a cozy movie dinner with popcorn, and lots of fun!

This night will allow kids to have fun and bond with their peers. Please note we have limited spots so sign up fast! The cost will be $40 per student for babysitting, fun and food included. All funds go to the Pacific Immigrant Resources Society, which is an organization that supports immigrant women and children across Canada. This event will be monitored by teachers and the Global Nomad's students.

Please sign up HERE.

If you have any questions please contact us at saberil@mulgrave.com, or Zayan, another organizer at jamalza@mulgrave.com

No Cell Phone/Smart Watch use starting April 15th

As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering well being and empowering our students to thrive, we are implementing a No Mobile Devices on Campus Policy for all students starting on Monday, April 15th.

This means that during school hours, students will not be allowed mobile devices (both cell phones and smart watches). Rest assured, they have access to landlines throughout the school should they need to contact family members. Additionally, families can reach out to classroom teachers or Michelle Myring to relay messages to students during the school day. After 4:00pm messages need to be relayed to the front reception. This system of communication between home and school worked perfectly well before the adoption of cell phone usage and we are confident that it will once again.

While we strongly discourage the presence of mobile devices at school, we understand that certain families may still opt to send their children with phones or smartwatches due to before or after-school commitments. If students are observed using cell phones or smartwatch during the school day, teachers will request that they stow the device in their backpack. If this behavior persists, the device will be confiscated by the Vice Principal upon a second occurrence, and further incidents will involve the Principal contacting parents. Mobile device usage by JS students is strictly prohibited on campus, including outdoor areas, between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm.
