Nike Basketball Camp: Jr. Ballers - Ryan Lendarduzzi
Join Nike Basketball Camps in West Vancouver! Hosted at Mulgrave School, campers train in an elite sports facility with Coach Ryan Lenarduzzi, head coach of Level 10 Basketball Academy to develop their individual skills, confidence, and team play while having fun. Focus areas for the week will include the development of fundamental skills (shooting, ball-handling, defense and passing), daily competitions (skills challenges, one on one and 3 on 3 tournaments) and full-court game play. All campers will receive a NIKE T-Shirt and will be eligible for great prizes!
Note: This camp requires enrolment and payment of $225 through the NIKE website. Please complete the Mulgrave registration and then enrol and pay through the NIKE site.

Exciting Experiments! - FULL
Science is subject which allows students to learn and understand the world around them. In this camp, students will learn the science behind various things that they use in their daily lives. In this camp, students will also learn and understand how to experiment with hands-on activities and adventures and have fun with science. We will look at structures, seeds, soil, building, and recycling by making a variety of new useful things. This camp is a great way to learn about the world and each little scientist will take home their projects. Please come dressed to get dirty and have fun experimenting!

Engaging Exercise for the Body & Mind (Sports Challenges & Brain Teasers) - Rebecca Brunswick-Werner
Puzzles and logic games are a fresh way to build essential critical skills that students need. In this camp kinesthetic learning experiences are combined with the kind of exercise and physical activity recommended by educators for maximizing student health and focus. This camp is jam-packed full super-fun and motivating games and activities to help inspire kids to engage their brains and bodies!
Please make sure your child is wearing comfortable athletic attire and clean athletic shoes (sandals, dress shoes, flip flops or crocs will not be permitted at camp).

Print-Making - Michelle O'Byrne
In this class we will learn a variety of printmaking techniques including monoprinting, block printing and collography. We will print on a variety of surfaces including cards, t-shirts and bags. A fun and creative class exploring colour, texture and pattern - come and learn the satisfying art of printmaking!

Children's Physical Literacy - Tanya Phelps & Jordan Hildebrand
The Children’s Physical Literacy Camp is an activity program for children in grades 1-3. Each child will be involved in group and individual activities designed to promote health-related physical fitness, skill development, safety, and general physical and social growth. Motor development skills such as balance, hand-eye coordination, and spatial relationships will all be developed in this fun and engaging week long camp.

Fun in the Forest - Jongsu Kim - FULL
Having fun in the forest is all about understanding the environment. This afternoon camp is about knowing the forest and making forts and shelters that don't leave a trace once we're gone. Students will also learn about survival strategies and what to do if you get lost in the forest. Campers will need to wear clothes that can get dirty and have rain gear too.

Botanical Sketching - Devon Lefeaux
This is a camp to develop observational skills and to explore the local environment. Students will be walking with skilled guides, listening to stories and sketching the beauty of British Columbia as they go. They will walk through our ancient forests with a focus on plant life, fungi, native animal species and some history of First Nations in B.C. Students will venture out rain or shine, so wet weather gear and boots may be necessary. All sketching materials will be supplied.

Colourful Collage - Michelle O'Byrne
Explore the wonderful world of collage in this colourful class. Using a variety of materials we will create some beautiful collage work. This class encourages students to let their imagination go wild! Please make sure that students are wearing clothing that can get dirty.

WEEK #2 JULY 16 - JULY 20
A Book of Your Own - Zoe Dixon - FULL
This writing and art program will have students creativity bursting onto the page in book form! Students will be making small books each with a different focus and theme. Using a number of different techniques, students will learn about how to structure their stories and also how to enrich their vocabulary. Every student will finish this camp loving the books that they have made and feeling proud of their achievement.

Puzzles & Conundrums
This camp is all about having fun with math. Campers will learn math strategies by playing games, working out puzzles, and thinking through challenging conundrums. Students will be learning with hands-on activities and on fine days we will take math outside of the classroom. This is a perfect opportunity to hone math skills during the summer and keep mathematical brains active and interested. All abilities will enjoy this multifaceted camp.

Team Games - Jongsu Kim
This action packed program introduces young athletes to various team game skills. Using many traditional, modified sports such as basketball, soccer, floor hockey, and a multitude of small group fun challenges. The benefits lie in increased communication, gross motor control, and confidence gained along the way. Basic game understanding and respect for rules, teammates and opponents are key features. Campers need to come dressed in runners and clothing suitable for active sports.

Big Painting - Michelle Mah - FULL
Go big or go home! This art camp is about big projects that involve hand prints, splatters and sploshes of colour. Students will let rip with their creativity on a grand scale! Please come wearing old clothing that can get dirty!

Healthy Eating, Healthy Body (Cooking for Kids and Sports/Exercise) - Rebecca Brunswick-Werner - FULL
This is a camp aimed at educating kids on how to lead a healthy lifestyle through diet and physical activity. Not only will campers look at what it means to eat a balanced diet and some activities they can do to stay fit but we will practice cooking some meals. An epic cooking themed show-down at the end of the week adds a fun twist to this practical and educational camp!

Camp Out Adventures - Jessi Jones & James Gardiner - FULL
Students will spend Monday and Tuesday afternoons learning about our local environment and camping skills before preparing for two nights of sleeping out under the stars (Wednesday & Thursday). Students will need their own sleeping bag and roll mat. This camp is led by an experienced teachers and camping is in tents within the Mulgrave School perimeter fencing. Dinner is included on Wednesday and Thursday evening, as well as breakfast on Thursday and Friday. More detailed information will be sent to parents nearer the time.

WEEK #3 JULY 23 - JULY 27
Zen Maker Camp: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math (STEAM) - Cyri Jones - FULL
From art, 3D design and 3D printing, to electronics, Minecraft, augmented reality and engineering projects, your kids will be introduced to this important area of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. No experience necessary! It's a great way for your child to have fun while learning some really useful skills, helping prepare them for the future. Participants will build a visually programmable LED nightlight that they can take home with them.

Brain Boosting Math Games - Lucie Wallace
Math games are a great way to interest kids in math without them even realising the extent of their learning! This camp is packed full of fun math games and logic puzzles that are appropriate for this age group and will extend and complement their school work. This is a 'safe' zone where students are able to develop without fear of failure. They will practise number bonds and math skills in a practical and exciting way so that everyday math is fun!

Survival Skills: Hug a Tree - James Gardiner & Jongsu Kim
Having fun in the forest is all about understanding the environment. This morning camp is active and all about knowing the forest and playing games that don't leave a trace once we're gone. Students will also learn about survival strategies and what to do if you get lost in the forest. Campers will need to wear walking shoes (no sandals) and clothes that can get dirty. We will go off campus every afternoon, so please have rain gear in case of a shower.

Get Your Groove On!
This camp is perfect for children who love to move and want to try different styles of dance. We will explore a variety of genres such as: Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, and Stage. Through dance, students will work on skills such as: coordination, rhythm, balance, stamina, memory and performance. Clothing that is comfortable is recommended (please no jeans). Students will dance in running shoes or barefoot. No dance shoes necessary. There will be a short showcase on the last day.

Jewelry Workshop - Devon Lefeaux
This workshop will introduce students to basic techniques for creating some of their favorite jewelry. Through hands-on experience, students will experiment with a diverse array of materials. They will be encouraged to personalize the pieces they create, allowing them to explore and express their creativity. All materials will be supplied.

Ultimate for Peewees - James Gardiner
‘Ultimate’ stresses sportsmanship and fair play. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play.” A non-contact game where sportsmanship is key; students will develop eye-hand coordination, practice passing games, and learn disc skills, while having fun and competing in a safe and supportive environment.

This camp will allow students to take an in depth look at traditional and modern myths and fairytales. Using a combination of reading, writing and crafts, students will leave with a new love for traditional stories. By exploring how classic tales remain popular in modern day, this camp will provide students with a deeper understanding of the stories they know and love.

Geometry & Art: Making Connections - Michelle Mah & Jongsu Kim
Geometry and art go together like salt and pepper! This camp is packed full of fun art activities, games and puzzles that are appropriate for this age group and will extend and complement their concrete mathematical understanding. This is a camp that has general appeal to all students and they are able to develop skills without fear of failure. They will reinforce their understanding of 2D and 3D shapes as well as explore tangrams and tesselations in a new and exciting way so that everyday math is fun!

Yoga for Youngsters
Yoga has been proven to boost both physical and mental health for children. This camp includes a yoga adventure with poses to get everyone moving. Campers will learn yoga poses and will experience relaxation with music. As well as learning ways to relax, there will be a variety of yoga games to help with concentration, balance, strength, self-esteem and academic performance. Campers need to wear loose clothing, have long hair tied back and bring a water bottle.

Introduction to Ceramics - Michelle O'Byrne - FULL
Create pots, coasters, beads and beautiful art pieces in this fun skill building class! The first few days we will learn different techniques to work with clay and build our beautiful creations. Learn to roll slabs, build coils and make textures. In the second half of of this course we will glaze our artworks, creating some beautiful pieces for you to take home. A fun hands-on class. Please wear clothes that can get dirty!

Miniature Fairy Gardens - Jamie Caton
While the fairies are away, you can make a miniature garden that any nature-loving fairy would adore. Using crafts and gardening supplies to create a miniature world, campers will love putting together a make-believe world all their own. We will be making miniature gardens from natural materials and embellishing them with tiny plants and ornaments. Maybe some fairy furniture too! On rainy days, this will be an 'under cover' camp, but wear clothes that can get dirty!

Nature Walks & Poerty - Michelle Mah
This is a camp to introduce and develop knowledge of verse and poetry as well as enjoying the outdoors. Students will learn and recite poems in small groups, big groups, and individually in the natural theatre of the forest. Performing, collaborating and speaking skills will be strengthened throughout the week! Students will be working indoors and outdoors, weather permitting, so remember to bring sunscreen and a bottle of water to keep those vocal cords hydrated. All other materials will be supplied.

Sparkly Arts & Crafts
Is sparkle your child’s favorite colour? If so, they will love this camp! We will be making brilliant, sparkly masterpieces and along the way, campers will learn different art terms and techniques. Students will also get the opportunity to create arts and crafts of various types, but all will have that special sparkle! The projects your child crafts in this camp will glitter, gleam, sparkle and shine. Please wear clothes that can get dirty.
