Perseverance is a trait that is tested throughout one’s life. Having to work hard, falter, iterate, and keep on trying is a character strength that our students practice early with our approach to risk-taking and learning from failure. Commitment to one’s goals is a big part of perseverance, and these students have that in spades.

We’ve all practiced a great deal of agility over the past year, but for our grads, that need has been even more acute. Grade 12 and the transition to life post-Mulgrave always presents a degree of uncertainty, but for these students, something extra was thrown in the mix. They’ve all handled their curve balls with consideration, grace, and a determination to make the most of what life has to offer.

University life certainly isn’t all about academics. Our students are counselled to consider the big picture when making decisions of where to apply and where to accept. It’s important to think about connection to place, community, and those you love. Here are just a few examples of students who have done just that.

Post secondary pursuits are but a stepping stone to the future. Many grads are understandably focussed on what the years immediately following Grade 12 will bring, but others are looking far beyond as they consider their choices, decisions, and perfect fit for the long-term.

While Mulgrave offers students a plethora of opportunities to experiment with different disciplines and discover new passions, some students have had a clear sense of direction from an early age. Instead, they have been able to go deeper into their area of interest while still rounding out their learning in other areas. Such is the case for these dedicated athletes, artists, pre-med/med students, and a pilot-to-be.
