Programme Overview
Mulgrave's Early Years (PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten) is a place to play, explore, build relationships, and develop independence.
The IB Primary Years Programme provides a foundation for inquiry-based learning that sparks curiosity, involves students in hands-on learning, and engages youngsters in positive action. Transdisciplinary units of inquiry are studied in a rotation throughout the three years and are built upon further in our Junior School. They are carefully designed to build concepts, knowledge and skills from one year to the next, as a student progresses through the school. The four units are studied each year in preschool and Kindergarten, rotating amongst: who we are, where we are in place and time, how we express ourselves, how the world works, how we organise ourselves, and sharing the planet.

IB Learner Profile
Our Early Years team utilises puppets designed by Indigenous artists to personify the characteristics of the IB Learner Profile Attributes. In this way, our youngest Mulgravians are able to learn about what it means to be 'balanced' like Hunter the Bear, a 'risk-taker' like Streamer the Salmon, or 'open-minded' like Magic the Octopus.
The IB Learner Profile attributes are woven throughout the school day and infused in our activities, play, and feedback to students.
