November Break Camps

Mulgrave's November Break Camp Programme has been designed to offer Kindergarten to Grade 12 students an opportunity to expand their learning while also having fun. Mulgrave teachers lead the camps, offering a balanced programme that exposes students to age-appropriate activities that span the curriculum.

This year, two camps will be offered:

  • K-G6, half or full day, varied subjects and activities, November 13th-16th
  • G6-12, full day Chinese Language and Culture Immersion Camp, November 14th-16th (for Mandarin B students only)

Kindergarten - Grade 6 Camp

What type of programme will be offered?

The Kindergarten to Grade 6 Camp offers a balanced programme that incorporates:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Indoor and outdoor sports
  • Dance and drama
  • Science
  • Cooking 

The programme is set for all participants; there is no course selection.

Who can register for this camp?

Any Mulgrave students in Kindergarten to Grade 6 can register for the camps.

When and where are the camps?

Camps will run from Tuesday, November 13th through Friday, November 16th at Mulgrave.

Morning camps are from 8:30-11:45am
Afternoon camps are from 12:15-3:30pm

Students can attend either half or full days, but we are not able to accommodate drop-ins or single day registrations.

Is after camp care available?

After camp care is available at a flat rate of $17 per day, from 3:30-5:30pm. Students will be supervised during this time.

How much does it cost?

Camp costs $162 for the half day programme or $325 for the full day. Camps run for four consecutive days. After camp care is an additional $17 per day.

Is food provided?

The cafeteria is not open during this time, so students will need to bring snacks. Participants in full day programmes also need to bring a lunch. A half hour supervised break will take place from 11:45am-12:15pm.

What is the cancellation policy?

In order to receive a partial refund in the event you must cancel, please contact us at summer@mulgrave.com before Monday, October 29th at 5:00pm.

All cancellations will be subject to a $50 fee.

Grade 6-12 Chinese Immersion Camp

What are the goals of the camp?

This immersion camp aims to provide:  

  • MYP Mandarin B students with the unique opportunity to practice/improve listening and speaking in familiar and unfamiliar situations (MYP assessment Criteria A, C & D)
  • DP students with intensive training in listening skills (new component in DP exams)
  • All Mandarin B students with an effective opportunity to understand Chinese culture more deeply.

Who can register in this camp?

This camp is for Grade 6 -12 Mandarin B students. Lead teachers will group students according to grade/language levels.

When and where is the camp?

The camp takes place during the latter part of November Break, at Mulgrave: November 14th-16th, 9:00am-3:30pm (Wednesday-Friday). Please note there is no camp on Tuesday, November 13th.

Is after camp care available?

Students will be supervised daily from 9:00am to 3:30pm during the camp. They need to be picked up at 4:00pm, but they will not be supervised from 3:30pm onwards.

How much does it cost?

The camp is $265 per student, which includes three full days of programming and full Chinese lunch each day.

What cultural activities are included?

Students will have the opportunity to participate in:

  • Chinese martial arts (少林拳)
  • Ink Blowing (吹画)
  • Calligraphy (书法)
  • Chinese knots (中国结)
  • Chinese songs (中文歌曲)
  • Chinese school gymnastics (广播体操)

Is food provided?

A full Chinese lunch is provided each day, but students should bring healthy snacks for their breaks. Please be sure to complete the Health Information fields in the PCR system (on the Parent Portal) to advise us of any food allergies.

Can parents come to see any of the camp?

All participants will present cultural activities of their choice on the last day of the camp (Friday, November 16th, 3:00-3:30pm). Parents and friends are invited to come.

When do I need to register?

Please register by Tuesday, October 30th so we can plan accordingly. The maximum number of students of this camp is 30 and the minimum number is 10. If we have less than 10 students enrolled by the deadline, the camp will be cancelled and a full refund will be processed.
