During times like these, it is all the more important that we foster our school value of community service. We encourage you to have family discussions about the broader impact of COVID-19, centered around questions such as: Who might be most vulnerable to the spread of this virus, both locally and globally? What are some impacts of the virus, other than getting sick? What will happen to students in schools where eLearning is not an option or for those that do not have access to computers or the internet? How can we help someone in need?

Many of our students, through clubs such as Senior School Action Council, in small groups, or independently, have engaged in community activities. Please see details on their projects below, and support as you are able; many of the initiatives are suitable for involvement of students of all ages...right down to our youngest Mulgravians!

If you have other ideas or initiatives, please reach out to SSAC by contacting Ellyana B (Gr 10) or Angela L (Gr 11).

Helpful Resources

If you're looking for other ways to help, be sure to check out these resources:

  • The Mulgrave Citizen: A blog by Mulgrave's Head of Global Engagement, Antony Wilson
  • Coming Together Vancouver: A network of neighbours providing support to those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Always in Our Heart Pillows: Offered by the Kimberly Foundation, these free heart-shaped pillows include a voice recording device so you can share a warm message with an isolated loved one.

The Mulgrave Community Relief Fund has been initiated to provide financial support for our school community during the global COVID-19 pandemic. This fund focuses on short-term tuition assistance for current Mulgrave families who have been impacted by changes in the economy. Thank you for your generosity and for supporting one another.
