January 19, 2018 The Alumni Basketball Game & Winter Social is one of our favourite events of the year as we have the chance to reconnect with our grads and hear about all the adventures they've been up to in the past year. At this year's basketball game, G11 student, Ali M., roamed the bleachers and hallways putting our alum on the spot for their advice, insight, and experience. We hope you enjoy hearing what our alum have been up to almost as much as Ali's banter and 'authentic' interview style. How do you build resiliency in your child? How do you help your child deal with anxiety? These are just a couple of the topics in our series of presentations focusing on the challenges of raising confident children in today's world. Each session will be facilitated by registered professional counsellor, Colleen Drobot. To view topics, dates, times, and to register for one or more sessions, Sr. Girls Basketball Team Competes in Hawaii The Senior Girls Basketball team participated in the World Youth Basketball Tournament (WYBT) in Kona, Hawaii from December 27th to 31st. They played six games against teams from California, Alaska, Hawaii, and New Zealand. We won three games and lost three. All games were highly competitive and closely contested. The team finished in 4th place out of 10 teams. It was an honour to play in the tournament and we are proud of the girls' performance Mulgrave Hosts Jr. Boys ISAA Championships This Weekend This weekend (Jan. 19th-20th), Mulgrave will be hosting the Junior Boys Basketball ISAA Championships (G9-10). The tournament includes eight independent schools from across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Games will be going all day in the Main Gym. The first game is at 1:00pm on Friday, Jan. 19th vs. Brentwood. The tournament schedule for the weekend is posted just inside the Main Gym on the left (adjacent to the Athletics Office). Come cheer on the Jr. Boys Basketball Team. Go Titans Go! Junior School Games/meets for the next two weeks has been posted. Check it out here. The Grade 7 Celebration of Science takes place on Thursday, January 25th. All are invited that evening to the General Viewing, 5:30-6:30pm in the Main Foyer and the Awards Ceremony that same evening, 6:30-7:00pm in the Main Foyer and Linda Hamer Theatre. Grade 7 students will be setting up their displays in the foyer, mezzanine and ground floor admin corridor Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Judging takes place Thursday morning – during this time each student will come out of their normal classes for a 15-minute presentation/talk with the judges. Awards will be given for first, second, and third place in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Psychology.
