INNOVATION & ICE CREAM AT THE LIBRARY

Image

The Library Learning Hub is off to an exciting start! Classes in the ELC and Junior School are underway, the Middle School students can be spotted hunting for their textbooks, and Senior School students can be seen carving out their regular study spots.

The increasing recess options of LEGO wall, Little Bits, Magformers, Makerspace, and chess have resulted in some students taking up residency in the library! One group, who took on a Makerspace challenge, could be heard tweaking, testing, and talking their way through the design of their project. At last count, they were on test number 118!

Who brings ice cream into a library? We do! Grade 2-6 students celebrated their reading over the summer with an ice cream party. Thank you to our parent volunteers who scooped over 200 ice cream treats.

Needless to say, the Library Learning Hub is an exciting place to be...hope to see you soon!

MVP Welcome Back BBQ

Huge thanks to the MVP for organising a great event! It was rainy, windy, and chilly, but we took the fun inside (except for the dunk tank - yikes!) and had an amazing afternoon. Our community sure knows how to have a good time!

ALUMNI VISIT TO SHARE THEIR TIPS FOR UNIVERSITY SUCCESS

Image

Leaving Mulgrave's intimate and supportive community to attend a big university can be pretty daunting, but alumni Angela Saunders (Class of 2007) and Steve Hur (Class of 2008) were able to put some of these fears to rest by sharing their tips for university success with our G11 and 12 students. Our two alum provided guidance and advice about time management, lecture preparation, utilising resources at university, getting involved in extra-curricular activities, course registration, transitioning to a new city, the benefits of visiting universities in advance, networking, and more.

Thanks Angela and Steve for coming back, being so candid, and sharing your expertise with us. If any students have further questions for Angela or Steve, please contact alumni@mulgrave.com to be connected.
