MR. FREWIN'S AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT FOR A MEANINGFUL CAUSE

Image

How many Grouse Grinds could you do in a day? Faculty member Michael Frewin participated in the Multi-Grind Challenge and completed 14 grinds in one day to raise funds and awareness for BC Children's Hospital.

Over 255 open-heart operations are performed at BC Children's each year - more than half of which are on children younger than a year old. Funds raised through this challenge go toward Cardiology at the hospital, ensuring children with heart conditions receive the best health care possible. Donate to Michael's fundraising campaign if you wish to support this cause.

GRAB A BLANKET AND JOIN US FOR MUSIC AND REFRESHMENTS

Mulgrave is welcoming summer with its very own music festival this Monday, June 26th at 4:00pm.

Bring a blanket to sit on the grass, and come to enjoy G7-11 musicians perform! There will be music for everyone - guitar, piano, pop, and even classical. It will be a festival-style setting with two stages of music, and light summery refreshments will be provided.

STRIKE A POSE! PHOTO SHOOT WITH MR. STEFFENS

Image

This year, we are once again calling all Mulgrave artists and debaters, athletes and mathletes, readers and thinkers, singers and performers, leaders and teammates to join us for a special photo shoot on Wednesday, June 28th from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Mr. Steffens will set up a photo booth in the Senior School film room and, throughout the day, the marketing team will stop by the classrooms to encourage those interested in having their individual shots taken to make their way down. Pictures from the photo shoot may be used in next year's marketing campaign, which will highlight the passions and interests of our diverse student body. So, students are encouraged to bring a prop. Contact Mrs. Calderon if you have any questions.

PEOPLE OF MULGRAVE: CELINA M. & ANDREW H.

As G10s buzzed about the school putting the final touches on the 80s inspired Battle of the Houses (BOTH), we sat down with Celina M. and Andrew H. who, after ten years at the school, had quite a bit of institutional knowledge on all House matters and were keen to share what the G10s have planned for tomorrow's event. Get to know the dynamic duo directing logistics behind one of the most anticipated events of the year.

Global Engagement is More Than Just a Day

This week, a couple of important global/local days of engagement took the spotlight on social media and around the community. On Tuesday, June 20th, it was the annual World Refugee Day, 'a day of global observance for the millions of people worldwide forced to flee their homeland as a result of war or natural disasters.'  On Wednesday, June 21st it was National Aboriginal Day (soon to be National Indigenous Peoples Day 2018) , 'a day recognising and celebrating the cultures and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis Indigenous peoples in Canada'.

If these days passed you by, or you are curious and want to learn about indigenous or refugee communities and take action, click here for a list of resources.
