Dear Math, Will You Be My Valentine?

Dear Math,

Will you be my Valentine? My sweetie ℼ? My 1 and only?

Your beauty transcends nature and that attracts me! I find your patterns everywhere, in the steps of Mulgrave, within my beating heart, in the petals of a flower, or my favourite - a sequence of numbers! And can I talk about your shape and symmetry? So many dimensions that transform you! I can always find a new attribute with which to measure you by! Oh my!

You're so real and that inspires me! Although, you do have a sense of humour with questions like: how to cross a bridge to get away from mutant zombies; but, usually, I find your problems so authentic and interesting to solve: like the one about developing an incident command system for a school! That one was a doozy! And when I make mistakes, which I do, I love that you pick me up, challenge me some more and help my brain to grow!

Oh math! You're so multi-faceted and that intrigues me! I love how open your questions can be and how there are so many ways to think about you! Should I figure you out with an organized list? An algebra tile? Or shall I undress you mentally?! Should I show my love for you with a drawing? A base 10 block or maybe a graph?

I need you, Math! Like a number bond, you complete me! Like a fact family, we belong together! Without you, I can't balance my bills, share my birthday cake equally, or figure out the ratio of my office space to V.P. Ramji's! Without you, I can't even figure out what time it is!

So math, will you be my Valentine? Shall we love each other to infinity and beyond? Please be mine!
