Last week, we had a great opportunity to work with an inspiring contemporary artist, Amy-Claire Huestis. She presented work from her own collection Video Diary. For example, the photo below is from one of Amy's work called Vision of Wonder.

During our discussion with Amy, we explored the connection between 'PLAY' and art, and played with prisms or cut glasses to form special light effects. We worked using different objects to create images and later projected those images onto varies surfaces, such as the ceiling and books. Some of us were able to work with a screen projector, and the rest worked with an overhead projector. Many of us tried to find tools in the art room. For example, one group used a glass bottom and created some reflection with it. This workshop started a unit of New Media for us. In this unit, we will be working a lot with digital media, which will be different from what we've done before.
