Parent and Visitor Check In and Check Out Expectations

Between the hours of 8:30am and 3:00pm (after drop-off and before pick-up) all members of the Mulgrave Community except students and employed members of staff must sign in and sign out at the front reception desk and display a stick-on visitors badge to show that you are an authorised visitor.

Please note that the main reception desk is the only way to officially enter the school. Between 8:30am and 3:00pm, all other exit and entry doors are locked.

These rules apply, for the reasons above, to all parents who are volunteering at school. I know that this will be a mild inconvenience for you, but I am sure that you understand the reasoning behind this.

People who are not wearing a visitor's badge will be asked to return to the front desk to sign in and acquire one.

If you are attending an official and organised school event (such as a concert or student-led conference) between these times, you will not be required to sign in or acquire a visitor's badge.

Junior School Check In and Check Out Expectations

Junior School students (GK-6) who arrive to school after 8:15am must check in at the Junior School office and collect a late slip. In the event a Junior School student must leave school at any point within regular school hours (8:15am - 3:15pm), he/she must be signed out at the Junior School office by a parent or guardian. We ask that advance notice is given to both the teacher and the Junior School administrator (via email preferably).

Upper School Check In and Check Out Expectations

Students in Grades 7-12 are not permitted to leave Mulgrave at any time during the school day without parental permission and without notifying the proper school authority (administrator, class teacher or homeroom advisor). If a student has an appointment during school hours, he or she must bring a note from a parent prior to the appointment explaining the reason for the absence. Any student leaving the school for any reason must sign the Sign-Out Register. If the student returns to school the same day, he or she must sign the Sign-In Register, noting the time of return. Students cannot sign in or sign out other students. Failure to sign in and sign out properly is a major concern in terms of safety and responsibility expectations and is a violation of the Code of Conduct.
