Grandparent's Day - April 11: Please RSVP

We are pleased to invite the grandparents (or ‘grandfriends’) of all of our Early Years and Junior School students to join us on campus on Thursday, April 11th from 8:30-9:30am. Please RSVP HERE.

At the event, grandparents and grandfriends will gather in our theatre and then will move to the classrooms. If there are children in your family in both divisions, it will be possible to pop in and out to make a few visits. Following the event, we will also offer campus tours.

We recognise that some grandparents have enjoyed visiting classrooms online over the past few years, a practice that began during Covid. Due to logistical challenges, we are not able to continue with this offering. We hope your children will share the highlights of their days with their grandparents during their regular online visits from home, and remember that for students up to Grade 4, there are always lots of classroom updates in SeeSaw that you can also pass along. For Grade 5s, we encourage students to reach out to loved ones and share all of the great work they are doing for their upcoming PYP Exhibition.

We look forward to welcoming our special guests on April 11th and encourage you to help grandparents and grandfriends register!

Janet Hicks Announcement

Dear Junior School Families,

It is with mixed emotions that I share that G4/5 Vice Principal, Janet Hicks, will be leaving Mulgrave at the end of the current school year. As you can imagine, this was a very difficult decision for her.

Janet has been at Mulgrave for 5 years and has had a significant impact on the G4/5 division, supporting teaching and learning. She has made wonderful connections with students, teachers and families and she will most definitely be missed.

Janet has decided to make a career change and will focus on curriculum development with the IB Educators Network (IBEN). She will do consulting work, workshops for teachers, and school evaluation visits across North America to help develop PYP in schools.

Janet will continue to serve the Mulgrave community in her role until the end of this academic year. Meanwhile, the search for a new Junior School Vice Principal has already begun, and I will share more information about that once we have made an appointment.

Kind regards,

Karyn Mitchell (she/her)

JS Principal
