This term, we have launched our new and exciting Character Education course for our Senior School students. Often when students leave school they express regret that they were not taught certain skills or had the opportunity to explore particular topics in a safe environment. We have developed this new course with the hope that it will address students questions, allow them to practice new skills, enable them to approach their studies and examinations confidently and leave school feeling prepared for the real world. Our aim is for our students to be able to lead happy, healthy and successful lives. The course will include the following topics and others requested by the students:
- Skills for success in class and in examinations
- Health, well-being and relationships
- Managing risk and resilience
- Career development and choice
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Public speaking
- Financial planning
Students will meet with their Character Education teachers twice in each two-week cycle, ensuring that there will be time to cover the content and address students questions fully. There will be an Open Door event this term to discuss this course in further detail.
