Relationships and community are at the heart of what makes Mulgrave so special - as a place to learn and to work. We emphasise this right from our annual two-day orientation and buddy pairings for new faculty through the many life events and professional accomplishments that we celebrate as a community. Our Social & Wellness (fondly known as Swellness) Committee arranges a wide array of wonderful events that bring together staff across all divisions and departments to build that sense of community and connection. A strong and supportive workplace community, where lifelong friendships are made, is our ultimate goal.

Our approach to staff wellbeing includes efforts to ensure we work efficiently and make connections with one another, practices with a focus on family, as well as opportunities to recharge and foster healthy practices.

Highlights of our staff wellbeing initiatives include:

• Significant, scheduled, weekly collaborative planning time for faculty during the school day

• Mid-term break in November to recharge

• Access to a fitness centre, trainer, and group exercise sessions

• Employee Assistance Programme

• A robust paramedical benefits programme that includes allowances for care such as massage therapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture

• Special events such as on-campus chair massages

Mulgrave’s mission is to inspire excellence in education and life and we invest significantly in the professional development of our faculty and staff. • The award of an annual bursary to a faculty member to pursue an international learning experience

• Tuition support for faculty members pursuing education-related Masters programmes

• 10 Professional Development days within the school calendar for faculty

• 2 hours per week of collaborative planning time

• An in-house leadership development programme

• Extensive opportunities for additional leadership and positions of responsibility

• Opportunities to participate in innovative and burgeoning educational practices as well as schoolwide committee efforts on focus areas such as sustainability, student wellbeing, and Indigenous teaching and learning
