Before You Apply
Our campus is a vibrant, fun-filled environment, specifically designed to inspire students to explore, research, collaborate, and build positive relationships. While you may be too far to experience it in person, we encourage you to explore this virtual tour for a glimpse into the many learning spaces where we love to work, play, and learn.
Be sure to also keep an eye on our Upcoming Events, usually in the fall, for virtual Open Houses and other opportunities to learn about the school.
If you will be travelling to Vancouver and would like to visit the school in person, please be sure to book a tour well in advance as appointment times can fill up quickly.
The Application
The application for admission to Mulgrave must be completed online. Please click on the button above when you are ready to start.
For deadlines, please see our Admissions Timeline webpage.
To learn about applicant students and families holistically, there are various steps in our process, depending on the applicant's grade level. Please expand the titles below for details on documentation, assessments, and more for applicants who are not able to complete the process in person (if you currently live out-of-city but are moving to the area during the application process, please let us know).
Please note that the documentation items listed below are only required upon completion of the online application.
Preschool (PK3, PK4) & Kindergarten
Documentation:
There are only a few things we need for our youngest applicants - proof of age (birth certificate or passport) and a family reference letter (from someone who knows you well and can speak to your parenting and educational philosophies).
If your child is in a current preschool or programme, you can also upload their report cards (not required).
Parent/Guardian Interview:
We conduct these online with all applicants. If you are in a time zone that doesn't line up with our usual hours of business (8:00am-4:00pm Pacific Time), please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
Student Visit with a Teacher:
Early Years applicants typically come to campus for a group visit with other children and our teachers. It is difficult to engage children effectively of this age online, but we do not have an expectation that your family will travel specifically to attend the group visit. We will work collaboratively with families to find a suitable time for applicants to meet with a teacher online for some stories and activities so we can get to know your child. Please be sure to inform us if your child is not fluent in English.
Grades 1-6
Documentation:
The following documents are required for this age group:
-
Birth certificate or other proof of age
-

Student Assessment:
-
For students entering Grades 1-2: an initial reading assessment, writing sample, and interview (in lieu of a group visit to campus).
-
For students entering Grades 3-6: a comprehensive and adaptive online test, writing sample, and interview (in lieu of a group visit to campus).
Students applying to Grade 3-6 who are in a similar time zone to Mulgrave's may be able to complete the assessment remotely with a member of our admissions team. For others, Mulgrave has partnered with a third-party proctoring service. Applicants will receive instructions on how to schedule the assessment only once they have submitted their application to Mulgrave. There is no advantage or disadvantage to completing the process using either method as for assessments completed by the third-party process, the Mulgrave admissions team receives videos of the interviews and PDFs of the written sample. Using this external service will incur an additional cost of $245 USD for the interview and writing sample.
The Mulgrave Admissions Committee will then review the profile to determine the candidate’s readiness for the next step of the admissions process.

Once admitted and full fees paid, the school can provide a letter in support of study visa.
