Messages from our Student Board
Our Senior Student Board is a leadership team that looks after the social and emotional well-being of their peers. It is a group comprised of Grade 12 students, some who have been at Mulgrave since Kindergarten and some who are newer to our community. We asked them to tell us a bit about why they love Mulgrave and what they think you'll enjoy about our school, too. Please enjoy perusing their answers.
Upon joining the Mulgrave community in grade 9, granted it felt a little bit daunting. However, my first day was the last time I felt that way. The vibrant and welcoming energy roams the hallways and foyers.
One of the most misunderstood concepts amongst students is leadership. I think that too many people are under the impression that a good leader is one who is the first to raise their hand or the most extraverted people.
It is my personal opinion that Mulgrave is a school that sets their students up for success. By success, however, I am not limiting the term to mean academic success only. Instead, I believe Mulgrave enables their students to explore areas of knowledge which they are passionate about, leading to students developing their knowledge and interest in their fields.
Having been a student at Mulgrave since kindergarten, I have always understood the importance of balance. I feel that balance in academics, athletics, arts, service, and leadership, is the key to success.
Community isn't all about being uniform and ordered, it's about celebrating each other's strengths and uniqueness and that is exactly what happens at Mulgrave.
As I look back at the past 13 years that I have had here at Mulgrave, I can honestly say that it’s difficult to pinpoint just one or two aspects that make this community my home.
Every day at Mulgrave is a different experience, but the one constant that has remained unchanged for throughout my years here, has been the sense of belonging I get whenever I am part of a large school event.
I fell in love with Mulgrave for its diverse community. I have been at Mulgrave for nearly a decade and I stayed because I craved the multifaceted nature of the Mulgrave community.
A central part of the IB program is aspiring towards global mindedness. At Mulgrave, we are constantly experiencing diverse cultures which help define our community.
