It was a wet and rainy two days of competition at Zones, but our boys didn't let that get them down as they went out and played five solid games of soccer without allowing a single goal against them in regulation time.
The team started off the tournament with a scoreless draw against Pemberton. That was followed by a 1-0 win against Deer Lake and a 3-0 win against St. John's. On Saturday, in the semi-finals, they beat St. Pats in a shootout 1-0. In the championship game, they found themselves up against an old rival, WPGA.
Our boys fought hard and had many scoring opportunities, but just couldn't find the back of the net. The game ended in a draw after regulation time had expired and had to go to a shootout to be settled. This time, unfortunately, our boys came up just short, losing the game 1-0. They proudly accepted second place honours and the opportunity to return to Provincials (in Victoria from November 1-3rd) where they look to extend on last year's magical run where they won the silver medal. Go Titans Go!
