Eighty miles from the nearest road, the pristine fjord of Rivers Inlet is an endless panorama of ancient mountains, virgin forests and abundant wildlife, and is only accessible by boat and floatplane.
The Grade 10 class has had the unique opportunity to spend their Fall Camp at Rivers Inlet, the site of the first cannery built in the Central Coast of British Columbia. Good Hope Cannery, over 100 years old, is originally an authentic 19th century west coast cannery - one of only two standing on the entire coast not converted to a museum.
The students and staff have spent this past week engaged in outdoor activities, such as kayaking and fishing, as well as cross-disciplinary field studies with their subject teachers. See below for a blog of their adventures.
