In the Primary Years Programme
every student and teacher in Grades 3 to 6
participates in an outdoor education experience providing an enriching out-of-class learning experience.
These camps range in activities that are grade and age appropriate.
In the Middle Years Programme, the students are challenged to go beyond residential camping into tents and under tarp shelters. Each grade builds on the previous grades' experiences, allowing for a comprehensive outdoor education experience by the time they complete Grade 10. Both interpersonal and intrapersonal skills are nurtured at each grade level.
The students are taught to set goals, internalise their own learning styles, participate in a wide variety of activities with their classmates to encourage and strengthen social bonds, and develop their own sense of accomplishment. Classroom curriculum is linked to the outdoors in engaging hands-on activities so that students understand that subjects do not exist in isolation and can be applied in a variety of situations.
