Do I have to stick with the suggested donation ideas?
No! What we are looking for are new (unused) items, services and experiences. The items listed are only ideas that have been successful at past auctions. Be creative!
Where do I get auction items?
This year we are asking that parents not purchase auction items. Instead we are encouraging parents to ask a favourite business if they would like to donate an item. Perhaps you have a friend or contact at a business that would be willing to donate an item or a gift certificate. If you work for or own a company that is able to provide an item or gift certificate that would be very much appreciated!
How important is the Auction Donation form?
The forms are very important! Please complete the ENTIRE form and be sure to include a detailed description of your donation, as it is vital to the auction catalogue write-up — we want to present your donation in the best possible way. The information is used for inventory, the auction catalogue and for tax receipt purposes (where applicable). In keeping with CRA regulations, gift-in-kind donations must be accompanied by documentation attesting to value as described in Item 3 on the back of the Auction Donation form.
What about gift certificates?
Certificates are great. If the donor does not have an official gift certificate, we can create a certificate for them. Simply fill out the form with all of the relevant information.
Do I get a tax receipt?
Mulgrave is a registered charity, and will issue tax receipts in accordance with the Tax Policy described on the back of the Auction Donation form.
Where do I drop off the donations and the forms?
Please include the form with the donation and drop it off at the MVP office in the main foyer. Someone will be available to collect your form and item from March 26th - April 5th. If you need assistance, please ask School Reception for further directions.
When is the donation deadline?
Please ensure that all your donations, forms and receipts are handed in by April 12, 2013.
