OUR SCHOOL: Biography - Tony Macoun
Tony Macoun joined Mulgrave as Head on July 1, 2004. Tony and his wife, Ann, relocated from Calgary, Alberta where he served four years as the Headmaster of Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School.
Tony has had a remarkable career which has given him a rare, international perspective on education, learning and life. He has been an educator for 33 years, working in three different countries and three provinces of Canada.
More than 20 years of his career have already been spent as a successful Head at a number of highly respected private schools, first at Ashbury College in Ottawa (1981-1986), then at Pearson College in Victoria (1986-1993), at the Red Cross Nordic United World College in Fjaler, Norway (1994-2000), and most recently at Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School (STS). He also spent one year based in Wales as Deputy Director General of the International Baccalaureate Organization.
