SCHOOL LIFE: House System

The school is divided into four house teams, represented by distinct colours and named after Nobel Prize Winners: Winston Churchill (yellow), Marie Curie (red), Martin Luther King (blue), and Michael Smith (green). Every child, faculty and staff member, with the exception of Principals and the Head, is assigned to a house; siblings are always in the same house. House pins are distributed to all new students free of charge when they join the school. Subsequent pins can be purchased from the office for $5 each.

House competitions and events are arranged in the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools throughout the year. One House Captain and two Deputy House Captains from Grades 11 or 12  are selected in July to promote spirit, and lead each house, in its goal to win the House Cup!  For a brief listing of how house points may be awarded in the Middle and Senior Schools, please click here.

In the Junior School, two House Captains are chosen for each house, after a competition each Fall whereby interested students present speeches to their peers and a panel of teachers.  These leaders will promote spirit and make plans to raise money to help our sponsored children in the SOS Children's Village in Galle, Sri Lanka.
