Thursday 18th January was a day where we started with a surprise snow fall which was combined with freezing rain. Everyone was caught off guard and the Mulgrave Hill became a nightmare for driving; traffic ground to a halt! I would like to thank those spirited parents who leapt out of their cars to help push and direct traffic. Safety is our greatest concern and thanks to cool heads and patience, nobody came to any harm. In these unusual weather conditions, I would like to bring to your attention a plea from the Aboriginal Mothers Center. READ MORE
A Parent's Perspective
Traffic issues have been very much on our minds this year and I would like to share with you part of a communication I received from a parent who is concerned for both congestion and environmental questions. What follows is an extract from his letter to the school: READ MORE
Would you like to learn Mandarin?
Please come and be a part of Mulgrave’s Mandarin Programme. Many students from Grades 1-12, teachers parents and adults are all learning to read, write, and speak Mandarin at Mulgrave. We have beginners’ classes on Mondays and level 2 beginners on Thursdays. This is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the growing interest in China. Learning a tonal language is a different experience from any other. When one considers that the word “ma” can mean horse, mummy, to scold, or as a question participle, one appreciates the importance of correct tone! The students who enrolled last term have made great progress already and most have signed up for a second term. If you are interested in joining this year’s classes please contact Nicola Ferguson as soon as possible.
Mulgrave Calendar for 2007/2008
Below you will find the confirmed calendar for our 2007/2008 school year. We have retained a three week Winter Break but it should be noted we will not end classes and close for Christmas until Friday 21st December. I do ask that parents do their very best to respect the dates we have set and arrange their family holidays away within the dates we have set for the school calendar. You should also note that in 2007/2008 the Spring Break is a week later than this year and does include the Easter weekend. These dates will be posted on the Mulgrave Web Site for easy reference.
