OUR SCHOOL: The Four Strands
Our students pursue excellence in four strands:
- Academics
- Arts
- Athletics
- Citizenship
Mulgrave students are expected to demonstrate success and growth in all four strands, and they are given the opportunities and support needed to do so.
Academics
Mulgrave School provides education and inspiration for students based on an enriched curriculum. We set high levels of expectations and foster intrinsic discipline in the pursuit of excellence. Our students enjoy a positive, supportive and vibrant environment in which to grow, learn and flourish. It is our aim to help each individual fulfill his or her own unique potential.
Arts
Passion inspires curiosity and depth. Participation in the Arts strand is expected of all students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Mulgrave offers Comprehensive Music, Theatre Arts, Choir, Vocal Ensembles, Band, Film and Visual Arts in this strand.
Athletics
Students are encouraged to be the best that they can be, with great emphasis placed upon effort and participation. Excellence resides in the full development of each student's potential. Mulgrave competes with both ISA and Public Schools, in swimming, cross-country running, soccer, badminton, golf, volleyball, track and field, gymnastics, basketball and rugby.
Citizenship
Mulgrave School is an intimate and nurturing atmosphere in which students can develop into knowledgeable, confident, compassionate and public spirited individuals. Students are expected to meet high standards of character and daily behaviour, and strive for courtesy, tolerance, perseverance, the ethic of hard work, self discipline, honesty, courage and a commitment to service.
