Intercultural Skills & Understanding

There are important behaviours and attributes that students who demonstrate global citizenship should have. Learning to be internationally-minded goes far beyond cultural celebrations and being part of a diverse community. There is specific learning that can be embedded in our curriculum. These skills and dispositions are listed below.

  • have good verbal and non-verbal communication skills in a multicultural/multilingual context
  • have ability to learn at least one other language and maintain their mother tongue

  • be able to reflect deeply about their own cultural experiences and cultural issues generally
  • have the social and emotional skills to engage with people of different cultural backgrounds
