FOSTERING ACADEMIC INTEREST AND CURIOSITY
TO PROVOKE ENGAGEMENT WITH CHALLENGING IDEAS
'Big Ideas' outside the classroom can generate a unique partnership of learning as the global controversies they address require bigger knowledge questions and wider audience responses. The International Baccalaureate vision of producing internationally-minded individuals implies a global engagement with difficult issues and a commitment to address these 21st-century challenges. Interdisciplinary exploration lies at the very core of the quest, as we strive toward an enlightened and fulfilled humanity that draws on wisdom, as opposed to simply information, from as many sources as possible. Therefore engaging in different kinds of knowledge from around our own community can be the first small step in expanding all of our perspectives.
