A HOLIDAY MESSAGE FROM MR. WRAY AND MR. WIERENGA

Image

Dear Mulgrave Families,

The holiday season is upon us, and we know that it can be an incredibly busy time when our attention is divided by both duty and pleasure. But when you take that moment to practice the mindfulness we encourage in our students, we hope that you will find peace and a deep-seated sense of connection. After all, it is the love we feel for those who journey with us (and those we may have lost along the way) that brings the greatest joy when the dinner is finished and the presents are all unwrapped.

We have three weeks in which to unplug and refresh. Though there

will certainly be travel for many and celebrations for all, we hope that you'll find the 21 days time enough away from your daily routines. During those quieter days, however, we would like to encourage you to continue to have conversations with your children about the importance of service, empathy, and gratitude.   Continue Reading >>

THIS BREAK, GRAB A BOOK AND A COZY BLANKET

Image

By Smita Karam

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, so grab a good book and be delightful... isn't that how the song goes?

As the holiday season draws near, and the cold winter weather descends upon us, I start dreaming of those moments when I can put away the computer and my phone for a few hours (maybe even the day!), and curl up with a good book. Whether you are 5 years old, 15, or 50, the idea of lazing around in fuzzy socks and cozy pajamas under

a soft blanket with an engaging book is something to revel in. This novel treat is often enjoyed by students and adults alike. As the pages slowly flip by, and the bustle of the holiday season fades into the distance, you eventually become transported into a new world with the 'right book'.
