Throughout the process, we have been coached tirelessly by Mr. Cawkell and Ms. Ferreira to prepare us for the different rounds of the competition, and we thank them.

The World Scholar's Cup (WSC) is an international academic program, modelled after the Academic Decathlon in the United States. Since being founded in 2006, it has grown to become a truly global competition, with thousands of participating students and regional rounds on all 6 inhabited continents. The competition has four parts: a team debate, collaborative writing, an individual multiple choice test known as the Scholar's challenge, and a team multiple choice competition known as the Scholar's Bowl.

My teammates and I were first introduced to the WSC in April 2016, when Mulgrave hosted the first ever Vancouver Regional Round of the competition. Based on the result of the regional round, we qualified to compete in the Global Round, which was held at the end of June 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. It was an amazing experience as it gave us the opportunity not only to visit a very different part of the world but also to meet and compete with a truly global group of students. We were very excited when we learned that both Mulgrave teams had ranked amongst the top teams, qualifying us to compete in the Tournament of Champions at Yale University this coming weekend. We are looking forward to an experience that we will remember for a long time. Wish us luck!
