GROUP ASSESSMENTS for PK3, PK4 & Kindergarten
Families who wish to be considered for our group assessments should submit their applications no later than the indicated deadlines. Students who meet our admissions criteria and are a match for the cohort will be invited to attend our assessment. We will consider hosting a second round of group assessments and/or individual assessments as needed and based on available space.
Applications submitted after the early acceptance deadline for Kindergarten may not be eligible for our group assessment, which takes place in early December.
What does the group assessment entail?
Students will join teachers in small groups based on the year they will be entering in the fall. The assessments typically include a series of developmentally-appropriate academic tasks and an observation period as students interact with the other children in the group. Some of the qualities our teachers look for are curiosity, kindness, respect and enthusiasm.
A parent interview is a required element of the admissions process; both parents are encouraged to attend.
ADMISSION TO GRADES 1-5
Students entering Grades 1-5 will be invited to come to the school for an individual assessment with a member of the Admissions team. Once we know if a space has become available for the following year, small groups of students may be invited for a small group assessment led by Junior School faculty members.
ADMISSION TO GRADES 6-11
Students entering Grades 6 through 11 must sit the SSAT – Secondary School Admission Test. This is an admission exam that is used by many independent schools around the world that provides insight into the student’s writing, math, verbal and reading comprehension abilities. For more information about the SSAT and how to register, visit the SSAT website by clicking here.
For these grades, applications can be submitted at any time. Individual interviews with the divisional principal and an Admissions representative will be scheduled based on anticipated space and applicants' qualifications. We recommend that complete applications (including full documentation and SSAT results) be submitted before the deadline listed above for priority consideration
