2011/2012 Grade 11-12 Post Secondary Information Session

Grade 11 and 12 students and parents
This annual session presented by Luke Lawson will give a general overview of the process for preparing and applying to universities. Emphasis is placed on Canadian universities. Information on requesting and sending transcripts, deadlines, publications and university visits will be provided.
VAIS American Universities Fair
Wednesday, October 19th @ 2:00-3:30pm
West Point Grey Academy
Grade 10-12 students by parental/guardian permission
Students will travel on a school bus to and from the fair. There is limited bus seating so attendance will be on a first come basis.
Permission slips are due Friday October 14th to Ms. Starkey. Permission slips will be emailed to students on Thursday, October 6th.

General Information Session on Applying to British and American Universities

Grades 9-12 students and parents
Luke Lawson, Director of University Counselling, will present information on applying to British and American universities including working on the UCAS and Common Applications and writing the college admission essay.

IB and UBC: Public Information Session

G9/12 students and parents
Representatives from UBC will give a detailed presentation on applying and studying at either of the two campuses. Special emphasis will placed on the value of the IB Programme and UBC's recognition of IB Diploma candidates. This session will be open to the general public.

This session, while geared towards grade 11 students and their parents, may be of interest to grade 10 students and parents as well. Luke Lawson, Director of University Counselling, will be leading families through the Mulgrave School Guide to College and University Decision Making. All are welcome to attend.

Middle School (G7-10) University Information Session
Tuesday, May 1st @ 7-8:30pm

This session, given by Luke Lawson, Director of University Counselling, is designed to give Middle School students and parents a general understanding of the university application process. Information on gathering materials on postsecondary institutions, choosing the right university, current trends in university admissions, US/UK universities, scholarships, and debunking various myths and rumours about university admissions will be presented.
