The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 60 (West Vancouver) Scholarships and Bursaries
Bursaries and scholarships are open to students who are Canadian citizens, residents of West Vancouver and intending to pursue post-secondary education in the fall. The criteria for bursaries are: demonstrated financial need. Although other applicants will be considered, preference will be given to children and grandchildren of veterans and ex-service personnel who served in Canadian or British Commonwealth Forces. Students must attend two consecutive semesters beginning in the fall and carry a full course load in order to be eligible. The criteria for scholarships are: academic achievement, demonstrated participation in sports or recreational activities and established record of duty, kindness unselfishness and citizenship. The Italian Cultural Center Scholarship
Four $500 scholarships are available to graduating students in the metro-Vancouver area. One of the applicant's parents must be of Italian heritage and a member of the ICC. The Tony Marzitelli Memorial Scholarship

The Dumitru Golea Goldy-Gemu Scholarship
This award is for $1500 US for students of Romanian descent through one of their parents. It is awarded by the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America for Canadian or US citizens or permanent residents. Further information can be found here. The application deadline is May 31.
The Stacy Levitt Women and Sport Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is open to young women, a girl's team or a sport organization that exemplifies Stacy's ideas and qualities: demonstrate a keen interest in sports and a healthy lifestyle; takes the initiative to make positive things happen; is highly motivated and enthusiastic and strives to be the best. BCAPT John Pearson Scholarship
For students who are entering engineering or physics at university and who show an aptitude for problem solving. The student should also be active in athletics or outdoor activities. This scholarship is valued at $250. Applications should be emailed and require one letter of recommendation. Applications are due no later than June 1st. For more information please click here.
The Canadian Medical Hall of Fame/Great West Life, London Life and Canada Life Scholarship
These renewable awards of $1000 each are for graduating high school students with a minimum IB score of 28 who are planning to pursue post-secondary studies in medicine or health sciences at a Canadian university. Selection is based on: academic excellence, awards and recognition, extracurricular activities, community service and evidence of an interest in pursuing an education and career in medical/health sciences. APEG Scholarships
The Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC offer scholarships of $2500 to engineering or geoscience undergraduate applicants intending to study in BC. To apply please click here. Applications are due by June 27th 2013.
The Jack Davis Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes all round excellence and public service. It is open to Canadian citizens who live in North or West Vancouver in grade 12. The student must be attending UBC immediately following their high school graduation. The basis of selection includes: academic achievements; athletic abilities and success;demonstrated leadership in being elected to office in student organizations or teams; evidence of taking an interest in their contemporaries; artistic, musical or literary abilities; qualities of truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak, kindness, unselfishness and followship.
